It started with a simple Saturday morning question: “What should we do with our toddler today?”
As a father of a toddler in Huntsville, I found myself spending way too much time every weekend searching through multiple websites, scrolling through endless event calendars, and filtering out things that weren't kid-friendly. Concert at the Orion? Not with a toddler. Wine tasting downtown? Maybe in a few years. Late-night festival? Yeah, right.
I kept thinking: Why isn't there just ONE place that shows ONLY family and kid events? Every site I found mixed everything together—adult concerts, bar events, business networking—forcing parents to dig through dozens of irrelevant listings just to find that one story time or family festival.
“When you have a toddler, your life becomes centered around your toddler. Your free time is their free time. Your weekend plans are their weekend plans.”
So I did what any sleep-deprived, slightly obsessive parent would do—I built the solution myself. What started as a personal tool to help me quickly find family activities turned into something I realized other Rocket City parents needed too.
And that's how Rocket City Parents was born.
Rocket City Parents exists for one simple reason: to make it easier for families to spend quality time together.
We curate only the events that matter to families with kids. No more sifting through adult-only events. No more wondering if something is age-appropriate. No more missing out on that perfect Saturday activity because it was buried on page three of some community calendar.
