Sewing Class for Homeschoolers
Anya Sievers and the Theatre of Fashion at Lowe Mill invite homeschooled students ages 8-14 to explore the art of sewing in a creative, hands-on environment. This weekly class teaches both hand-stitching and machine sewing techniques, guiding young makers through projects that range from cuddly soft toys to their own wearable creations. In the supportive atmosphere of Studio 2001, kids learn practical skills while discovering how to transform fabric and thread into something uniquely their own. Classes meet weekly starting April 30th at 11:00 AM at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, with the full session priced at $155. You'll find the Theatre of Fashion's Studio 2001 inside Huntsville's beloved arts complex, where the creative energy of the building itself adds to the experience. The class size allows for individual attention as students progress from basic techniques to more complex projects at their own pace. No prior sewing experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to learn. Students will gain confidence working with needles, thread, and sewing machines while developing patience and problem-solving skills. Whether your child dreams of making plushies for their collection or wants to design their own clothes, this class offers a practical introduction to a lifelong skill in a setting that celebrates creativity and self-expression.
